BBC Radio 1 has announced a big shake-up of its schedule that has seen The Saturdays star Mollie King get her own radio show.
Last year's Strictly Come Dancing contestant will be teaming up with Matt Edmondson for Friday afternoon show Matt and Mollie from 1pm-4pm, with the current Friday presenters Nick Grimshaw, Clara Amfo and Greg James having a day off.
"I've grown up listening to Radio 1 and I can't wait to be one of the team," Mollie said. "This is an absolute dream for me! The only person more excited than me is my mum – who is delighted I finally have a proper job!"
Matt added: "Mollie popped in to be a co-host a few weeks ago and was so bloody brilliant we couldn't let her go! I can't wait to get started, but I have warned Mollie that there's only room for one fashion icon on the show, and it's me."
The new schedule starts in June with BBC Radio 1 bringing the weekend early, starting with Radio 1's Weekend Breakfast (6.30am-10am) hosted by Dev and Alice Levine, followed by Radio 1's Greatest Hits with Maya Jama (10am-1pm).
Then after Matt and Mollie, Scott Mills will be presenting The Official Chart (4pm-7pm), fulfilling a life-long dream of his.
"I was sat with my Mum when I got this news, and she actually cried because I've been pretending to do the chart show on Radio 1 since I was 8 years old. I've filled in on the show so much over the years, and I can't believe it's actually mine," he enthused.
